Our Giving Grove is a small business run by Joe and Sara in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. This page explains what information we collect when you visit ourgivinggrove.com, order a planter or write to us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we don't want your information for anything beyond making and shipping your order.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered. For personalized planters, we also collect the details you send us, such as a player's name, number and team colors, and any logo you provide. If you create a customer account, we also keep your login email and order history.
When you contact us: your name, email address, order number if you include one, and your message.
Automatically, when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you got to our site. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies.
Payment details: we never see or store your full card number. Payments are handled by Squarespace Payments, which is powered by Stripe, and their handling of your payment data is governed by their own privacy policies.
How we use it
To make, pack, ship and support your order, including emailing you about it.
To answer your questions and handle returns or problems.
To keep our records, including taxes and accounting.
To understand how people use the site so we can make it better.
To protect the site against spam and fraud.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only with the services that help us run the shop:
Squarespace, which hosts our site, runs our store, takes payments and buys our shipping labels. See their privacy policy.
Stripe, which processes card payments through Squarespace Payments.
USPS, which receives your name and address so your package arrives.
Google, for site analytics (Google Analytics), spam protection on our contact form (reCAPTCHA), and maps on our events pages. See Google's privacy policy.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies that Squarespace needs to run the site and your cart, and Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. Google Analytics collects data such as your approximate location, device and the pages you view. To opt out of Google Analytics across the web, install Google's opt-out browser add-on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the cart and checkout need cookies to work.
Orders through Etsy and links to other sites
If you buy from our Etsy shop, Etsy's privacy policy applies to that purchase, and we receive the details we need to ship your order. Our site also links to Facebook and Bat World Sanctuary. We don't control those sites, so please read their policies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as we need them for taxes, accounting and customer support, generally up to seven years. We keep contact messages until we have answered them and for a reasonable time afterward.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by writing to ourgivinggrove@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, such as past orders, to meet legal requirements.
Children
Our site is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top.
